BFM TV is a French news network that (luckily for us) airs 24/7, around the clock in French. During the daylight hours the news is recorded live in France and during the night they air re-runs of the news from the day. I believe that the channel ends up repeating it’s news every hour or so, but that doesn’t stop you from learning French! Also, if the news cast repeats itself then think of it as an extra chance to hear things you might have missed the first time.

Curious to see how long the internet delay is from the actual broadcast, I conducted a little experiment. First I turned on my Uncle’s French television, then I checked the live internet feed. I was astonished to see that the image and sound from my computer matched the television’s broadcast WORD FOR WORD, pixel for pixel.

I highly recommend this as a French resource because its very practical. You can learn French and listen to natives at any hour of the day, you don’t have an excuse not to watch 10 to 30 minutes of French television a day! This channel also informs you on news that everyday French people find important while staying up to date with what’s happening overseas. Anyone with an Intermediate or Advanced proficiency in French can enjoy the broadcasts without too much difficulty, however the speakers may talk quickly at times (you know how news casters are always short on time).
