JE M’EN VAIS – VIANNEY
Video released November 7th, 2017
Vianney features a soft-spoken French song reached #2 in France and remained on the charts for quite some time. I enjoy it quite a lot.
AFRO TRAP PARTIE 7 (LA PUISSANCE) – MHD
Video released November 7th, 2017
Afro trap is a long-running series of rap songs from the Parisian rapper MHD. His album reached #2 in France and this particular song reached #19 on the boards.
Dommage – BigFlo & Oli
Huge song by BigFlo & Oli which has spanned over 100 million views on YouTube. This French music video was released in September of 2017.
BigFlo & Oli introduce several different characters throughout the song, ultimately, encouraging them to take action. The song finishes with a line essentially saying, “it’s better to live with remorse than regrets.”
O’MACARENA – DAMSO
This song by Damso is one of my favorites on the list. It includes Damso, a French rapper, who meets a 30-year old woman with an established life. The two have a romantic thing going for them. But Dameso convinces himself that it’s not worth pursuing such a woman as he is rather young with different goals in life. His “heart dances the Macarena,” is repeated several times as he decides what to do.
This French song was uploaded in June 2017. It currently exceeds 50 million views.
AY MAMA – SINGUILA
Video released February 2nd, 2017
Singuila’s song is really catchy, especially once it hits the chorus at around the one minute mark. The music and video honestly make you want to dance along with the groove and the music.
BENE – PNL
PNL is one of the hottest French rappers and their song Béné earned them a spot on France’s Top 40 boards. PNL is one of my French cousin’s favorite’s:
Chocolat – L’artiste feat. Awa Imani
French video released February 17th, 2017
The French song, Chocolat, hit the #10 spot on the Top 40 charts in France. While this song might be called chocolate – it’s not about food but rather L’artiste’s featured singer Awa. The chorus being, “She’s a sexy, refined chocolate.” When Awa starts singing it makes the song 10 times better.
Les Rues De Ma Peine – Amir
After one listen, you may not love this song. After a second or third listen, it really builds on you. This French song was released in 2017 however the video dates 2018.
Bazardée – KeBlack
Released at the end of 2016, Bazardée by KeBlack topped the French charts in 2017 and earned a spot on this list. His video has nearly 200 million views at time of typing this article up.

Or English: Ed Sheeran – Shape of You
Or Puerto Rican: Luis Fonsi – Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee
