Determining a Song's Difficulty On FrenchCrazy

I've been receiving emails asking me how I determine whether a French song should be categorized as EASY, MEDIUM, or HARD. Below is my basic set of criterion for determining song difficulty. Remember, that if you believe a song should be rated more difficult or less difficult, then say something in the comment section of the song!

EASY SONGS:
The song uses simple vocabulary, which can be understood by intermediate French learners, AND/OR the song has a slow enough tempo, in which words can be heard clearly. Easy songs are the songs you can sing along to, and actually listen to the words easily!

MEDIUM SONGS:
Medium songs utilize slightly difficult (or specialized) vocabulary AND/OR the singer sings portions of the song which are too fast to be understood clearly from an intermediate French learner's ears. Advanced learners can find enjoyment in this song category. Most songs usually wind up falling in this category.

HARD SONGS:
Hard songs may use difficult vocabulary, slang, or innuendoes. All hard songs have a fast-paced or moderate singing tempo (otherwise, it will be placed as a medium song). Hard songs may also mention abstract ideas. These songs are suited for Advanced learners and up; however, anyone can enjoy these songs and learn a little vocabulary from them!
